Hello friends!
I’m very excited to share my first collection as Lex MB Studio! I’ve created 20 limited edition wall hangings for deepening your daily tarot, oracle or affirmation card practice. Display your card of the day in your space, continue reflecting on its message throughout the day and be reminded to pull again tomorrow.

This collection began as a personal project, rooted in my own tarot and journaling practice. I often use tarot and oracle cards to process things going on in my life and to connect with friends about their own lives. Their universal messages allow me see difficult situations through a fresh lens, breaking out of my often limited perspective. Turns out, when you’re stressed and anxious, it’s a lot harder to see that you have a wellspring of options! The cards help me see beyond my blind spots and invite me to consider and enact my agency.
Not only do these cards carry messages for difficult times, but they’re also works of art themselves, a simple format reimagined by artists worldwide time and time again. While many modern tarot decks refer to the imagery of the original Rider-Waite-Smith Deck, oracle decks are uniquely developed by their creators to draw in wisdom from the likes of nature, history and philosophy. Each deck’s accompanying guidebook brings the writer’s life experiences and spiritual practice into the fold, further distinguishing it from the rest.
Like many other readers, I see my cards as sacred. I have a preferred shuffle for each deck and find them to have unique personalities. And of course, I have experienced the jarring-yet-whimsical experience of pulling the same cards again and again, a sensation that feels like being yelled at from the ether - PAY ATTENTION!
This product idea began with a desire to keep my daily card front of mind throughout the day, as its wisdom begins to wear off around 10am, when the stress of life comes tumbling in. During this time, I was falling down the appliqué process rabbit hole. Used by quilters, this sewing method involves cutting unique shapes out of fabric and stitching them onto a fabric backing. Through this method, artists are able to incorporate more organic, complex shapes into an otherwise geometric medium. As I played with the process, the idea started to take shape.

Many iterations came down the pipeline as I workshopped how to attach the card safely and beautifully. I began with card-sized pocket in the center of the piece and slowly made my way to an internal magnet that allowed the work to be hung with or without a card. I workshopped different hanging methods, cutting methods, attaching methods—all with the goal of creating a beautiful final product that I enjoyed making. And I achieved that!

The color schemes and imagery for these pieces developed naturally, pulled from my sketchbook and inspired by the work of folk artists long since gone. And of course, when creating a backdrop for tarot cards, a touch of magic is crucial. Golden stars and cerulean rain drops bring balance and whimsy to each composition.

I experimented with variety of felt types before landing on a wool blend felt that adds natural texture and softness to each piece. The dowels were cut down and finished in Jesse’s backyard workshop, my first foray into using a power saw and a drill press. Each is stained and painted with a touch of gold or copper to bring a glimmer to an otherwise boring element of a wall hanging design.

This project was created with a process-first mindset to ensure that I enjoyed it every step of the way. With each iteration friction was removed and replaced with play, play, PLAY! That’s my ultimate goal with Lex MB Studio, to find joy in meaningful work and to create a life that sustains it. I’d say it’s working so far 🌞
I’m so proud of the work and hope you enjoy it as well. Thank you x100000 to the friends who cheered me on through this process, you make this magical life possible.
And of course, questions are welcome (and encouraged) so ask away.
Thanks for being here!
